I first started racing mountain bikes when I was 12 years old.  After my first bike race at the Thursday Night Buck Hill Series I was hooked.  After a year or so of just mountain bike racing I decided to give road racing a try and found the speed and tactics involved with it interested me more.  I have learned a great deal about bike racing since I started racing and progressing from a category 5 racer.  Today, I race all three disciplines: road, mountain bike, and cyclocross.  I use mountain biking and cyclocross racing as a way to improve my bike handling skills and also as cross training.  This will be my third season with Bianchi/Grand Performance (second season on the Elite Team) and of the few teams I have been on this has by far been the best.  It's rare that you find an amateur team to that gets the type of support we do.  I look forward to another great season with Bianchi/Grand Performance and the great results soon to come!

Cross Country Skiing and Hiking are a lot of fun, as well as going out on the town with friends and dancing. I am currently studying Pre-med in school and hope to be a Physician or Physicians assistant in a private practice. I listen to all kinds of music, especially electronic music. I have a serious soft spot for pizza, Oreos, or any kind of home cooked meal. My favorite stop during a ride is next to the volleyball courts on Lake Calhoun in the summer to check out the scenery.

I first got into cycling at a young age when (as I like to put it) I realized that "ball sports" like soccer, baseball, basketball etc. were probably not going to work out.  So I started riding bike, running and cross country ski racing.   When I'm not trainning or racing I enjoy spending time with friends, cooking, and trying to convince the cute girls at the library that tan lines and shaved legs really are attractive.

I first started racing in Kansas City in 2005. My wife was in school at the time and I was along for the ride and looking for a “hobby.” I decided that I loved it, and more or less focused my life on it for the next couple years. We later moved out to Colorado for two years after that, and I got to experience some long-term altitude training. Eventually we moved back to Minnesota and I have since shifted priorities back to my education and family. I just started medical school this year, and our beautiful baby boy, Rohan was born last September. Needless to say, I’ve been pretty busy the past 7 months but am still hoping to get some solid training in this spring, and to get out and race later this summer. I am looking forward to working with the younger racers on our team and helping them experience all the positive aspects I loved so much about racing.

I am 27 years old. This is my fourth year racing now and my second year on the Bianchi/ Grand Performance Team.  My athletics started as a high school Nordic skier and moved on to marathon running.  I started riding as cross training for running during college and then discovered my passion really lies in cycling.  There is so much more to the sport of bike racing then other sports. The speed, danger, tactics, and different skill sets of the riders make it so exciting.   My goal for the season is to help the team get organized during the races so that our individual efforts become strong enough to get some great results.  I would really like to see one of our guys placing on the podium at the big regional races and winning the local races.  We have a great group of talented riders that will improve each year.  I am sure this year will show a lot of improvement from last year as we learn from our experience and are stronger from the racing we have done.
