Rules of the Road
Due to inherent danger of bicycling, SPBRC is not responsible for injury.
  1. All traffic laws are to be obeyed (includes but not limited to stop signs, lights, yellow lines, as well as trail rules).
  2. Helmets required on all sponsored club rides.
  3. Double pace line allowed as traffic and road conditions permit (single file expected in heavy traffic and urban conditions).
  4. Sprinting and high intensity portion of training rides allowed only where traffic conditions permit (typically this is not inside Mpls./St. Paul city limits).
  5. Absolutely no comment, hand gesture, etc. in reaction to automobile driver/passenger actions or provocations.
  6. Use road shoulder whenever possible.

SPBRC Rider Courtesy

  1. Use hand and verbal signals to notify other riders, as well as cars, of intent, road hazards, etc.
  2. Riders are not to be dropped at stop signs, lights, or during mechanical breakdowns.
  3. Intent of ride (training, fitness, easy) should be advertised prior to start of ride.
